When you discard a message, it is held for about 4 days in the Discarded folder. This means that if you discard a message by
mistake, you'll still have a few days to recover it.
In order to be able to recover discarded messages,
you need to turn on the storage feature. Choose this
link and make sure the first box has a check mark in it:
